About this pen
The Jinhao 82 is light and slim, with gold trim and a screw cap that seals well, so it does not dry out in a drawer. It fills from a bottle with the converter in the box, or takes standard international cartridges if you would rather not.
It is the pen Karen hands to people who have never used a fountain pen. If you like it, the nibs are cheap enough to try every grade.

Which nib should I get?
Fine suits most handwriting. Go extra fine if you write small, medium if you write large. Bent is angled at the tip, so it gives a thin line held upright and a broad line held low.
How to fill it
About a minute, the first time. You will need a bottle of ink and a tissue.
Unscrew the barrel
The converter is already fitted to the nib section.
Dip the nib
Put the whole nib into the bottle, past the little breather hole.
Turn the converter
Twist the end slowly. You will see ink climb into the window.
Wipe and write
Wipe the nib with a tissue, screw the barrel back on, and try it on scrap paper first.
TipFill it over a sink the first few times. It is easy, but ink finds its way onto fingers.

Can I change the nib later?

Meet Karen
Karen earned her pen licence in primary school in the 1960s, and fountain pens stuck with her. She learnt italic calligraphy as a teenager and came back to pens years later as a hobby. When she saw how hard good entry-level pens were to find in Australia, she started Blue Wattle Pens.
